Choosing the Best (CTB) is the abstinence education program provided in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades at McNabb Middle School in Montgomery County, Ky. CTB is an evidence based program supported by the KY Department for Public Health that teaches students how to have healthy relationships, how to avoid unhealthy relationships, the best way to say no, how to set boundaries, how to speak up for yourself, how to have respect and self-discipline, how to make healthy choice, and to understand STDs.
The curriculum is 6-8 sessions in length depending on the grade and are down-to-earth, direct, and hands-on in order to keep the attention of middle school students.
